Honomanu Bay

Features
Scenic black sand beach surrounded by lush green cliffs, known for its natural beauty
Parking
Very limited informal parking at the bay; rough, steep, muddy dirt access roads (one may need 4WD after rain; taking a rental off-road can violate the rental agreement) - many visitors view the bay from the highway lookout instead
Hazards
NOT a swimming beach: rough surf, rocky/boulder shoreline, no lifeguard, no facilities; stream runoff makes water brown/murky after rain - stay out. Sand is seasonal - mostly rocks/boulders in winter, some black sand in summer
Sand Color
Black
Associated Resort
Not associated with a specific hotel or resort
Authority
Unmanaged shoreline (no county beach-park facilities)
